Working for the Armed Forces, is by nature, a dangerous job. However, the Ministry of Defence has an obligation to minimise this where possible. If you are a current serving member of the Military, or have been discharged, and have been injured during the course of your employment and believe that steps could have been taken to mitigate the risk of injury, you may be able to claim against the MoD for compensation. The Ministry of Defence, as an employer, must adhere to strict Health and Safety regulations in the same way as any other business. This means, that if reasonable steps weren’t taken to prevent injury then you may be able to make a claim for injuries including: noise induced hearing loss, accidents during training, faulty or defective equipment, Road Traffic Accidents involving military vehicles and accidents in the Territorial Army and Reservists.
If you were injured in a combat or war environment, then the MoD can apply for something known as ‘Combat Immunity’, meaning your right to a compensation claim is suspended. However, if your injuries occurred in a non-combat scenario you may be able to claim.
The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) enables members of the military to claim compensation for their injures, regardless of fault. Therefore, it is not necessary for a service person to prove that the accident, injury or illness was as a result of someone else’s negligence to make a successful claim.
You are still able and within your legal rights to make a claim for negligence, regardless of if you have already received an award under the AFCS. Both claims can run alongside each other.
We understand that Military compensation claims can differ significantly from civilian claims, but our assurance to you remains the same. Please Contact Us to discuss your situation and your ability to claim.

I am writing to you personally to say thank you to Attwood's for a job well done with my recent claims. It initially started out as one claim, but eventually became a little more complicated when another was added following a review of my condition by one of your dental experts. Throughout the last couple of years as the claim has progressed I have been fully supported by your colleague Luke Taylor. I have thanked him personally for all the good work and support he gave me over the last couple of years, it was quite a journey for both of us but with the right outcome, but I just wanted to also highlight to yourself the good service and support he provided me with. It was very much needed and appreciated. He has always been very professional and the advice he has given has always been with real feeling and thought, and not the "just my job" attitude. Even when I was very wary of what to do next, he always explained it in simple terms for me understand and move forward. If I ever need similar help in the future, your company will be the first I contact. With my sincere appreciation and regards.
