The World News (28th November 2012) – The Medical Protection Society has stated than one in ten medical negligence claims are for cancer. Doctors are increasingly failing to detect and follow up on any abnormal results.
Mail Online (27th November 2012) – A poll of more than 2,000 Britons suggest millions lack confidence to tackle their doctors. Half of patients are “too scared” to challenge medical advice given by doctors, even if they think it’s wrong.
Mail Online (23rd November 2012) – A horrifying catalogue of serious errors at NHS Hospitals has come to light, following a freedom of information request. A pneumonia patient died after being left for nine days without medication.
Mail Online (23rd November 2012) – Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust operated on the wrong patient and left surgical instruments inside. Eight “never events”- instances, that should never happen, have happened since last September. Surgeons also operated on the wrong part of the body of another patient.

The Telegraph (25th October 2012) – One in ten medical negligence claims involving cancer are from women with breast cancer, as doctors are failing to examine women and not following up on abnormal test results.
The Independent (18th September 2012) – Complaints about doctors have reached a record high, the General Medical Council (GMC) said. Last year 8,781 complaints were made compared to 7,153 in 2010, according to the GMC.
BBC NEWS WALES (21 August 2012) – The cost of medical negligence payouts by the NHS in Wales almost doubled over the past three years, rising by £18m. Figures obtained by BBC Wales show the cost of failures such as botched operations cost taxpayers £38m in the 12 months to April. The number of settled cases where compensation was paid for clinical negligence rose.
North Jersey (4th June 2012) – A jury in Hackensack has awarded $6 million to a woman who had sued a surgeon at the now-closed Barnert Hospital in Paterson, alleging a bungled surgery left her with lifelong health problems.
