Fiat Chrysler (US) Renault (France) are also being investigated for diesel emissions.

Developments are afoot with Dieselgate and we want to make sure that car owners won’t miss out. If you’ve got, or owned, a VW, Skoda, Audi or SEAT, then read on.
Back in September 2015 the news headlines were hit with reports of VW cheating on its emissions tests by using a piece of software, known as a Defeat Device. You no doubt watched the cascade of headlines about the Diesel-Emissions Scandal with open-mouthed horror.
Time has now marched on but the problem hasn’t gone away. You may feel that you are being fobbed off with a recall only. We want to see justice done for the millions of consumers affected. People like you.
Group Litigation Claims (sometimes referred to as Class Action) are being mounted against the car manufacturing giant. Over the past year many motorists have turned to us and joined our Register as we watch and wait whilst the scandal soldiered on. There are still some unknown factors. However, Attwoods will be there, on your side, fighting your corner, working tirelessly to get you the compensation you deserve.
Frighteningly, despite the $17.5billion paid to US owners of affected cars, all that has happened is a recall. According to latest figures, almost 200,000 of the 1,189,906 cars affected by Dieselgate in the UK have been recalled. This should be completed by Autumn 2017. VW originally said this would be completed by the end of 2016.
If you owned a VW (or a car from one of their sister companies Skoda, Audi or SEAT) then you may potentially be affected. You need to own, or have owned, a 1.2l, 2.0l, or 1.6l vehicle manufactured between 2009 and 2015 and have done so before 1st January 2016. Specific engines have been affected – these are the EA189 engines. You can Register with us to see if your vehicle would be implicated.
In terms of the recall, the 1.2l and 2.0l all that the recall is doing is a quick software edit. For the 1.6l hardware changes are being completed at the recall.
However, we, along with many, don’t believe a recall is enough to recoup your financial loss.
What you get will from a Group Litigation Claim will be dependent on many factors. Group Litigation Claims for Dieselgate will be handled on a No Win No Fee basis meaning that you won’t pay any Legal Fees unless your claim is successful. This group approach brings you the benefit of safety in numbers and reduced overheads. If the Group Litigation against Volkswagen is successful you may receive compensation. Compensation for affected owners is currently being thought to average around £3000. The amount awarded to each individual should reflect:
- Any costs incurred by you as a result of the recall in terms of time and money whilst you are without your vehicle
- Increased Fuel Costs – diesel has been popular for its lower cost to motorists for a good few years now.
- Depreciation in value on your vehicle– this means potentially one of your largest assets significantly dropping in value through no fault of your own
- Costs associated with future repairs – whatever has to be done to fix the problem will likely incur costs in the future too.
You should be able to get awarded compensation should the above, or some of the above, prove true. Additionally if you are one of the motorists who paid more for a ‘clean diesel’ version of a vehicle then you could be entitled to a refund on the difference in price.
It is time to get your voice heard amongst the masses as well as making sure you don’t miss out on any potential compensation. At Attwoods we have already rolled our Group Litigation Service into action. Daily, many more like you are getting on board – turning one voice in to a giant that is big enough to rival the formidable car companies. All you need to do is register your details, get informed on what’s happening now and how things are developing, share your story and concerns with others in the same boat, and let us do the rest.

It initially started out as one claim, but eventually became a little more complicated when another was added following a review of my condition by one of your dental experts. Throughout the last couple of years as the claim has progressed I have been fully supported by your colleague Luke Taylor. I have thanked him personally for all the good work and support he gave me over the last couple of years, it was quite a journey for both of us but with the right outcome, but I just wanted to also highlight to yourself the good service and support he provided me with.
